Located in Hamilton NJ near Trenton. The Grounds for Sculpture is truly an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon and evening. With so many interesting exhibits and photography being permitted for personal use, bring your favorite camera along since there is no shortage of subject matter. These grounds are an awesome combination of art, nature and fine dining. The sheer beauty of the grounds combined with the diversity of sculptures and galleries throughout, make this a great place for both art and nature lovers.
This is the view as you enter the grounds through the bar and lounge area at Rat's, an outstanding fine dining restaurant located on the Grounds for Sculpture.
There are several indoor galleries on the grounds. The one we were browsing at the time was an extraordinary exhibit by the artist Ming Fay.
The day we visited the Grounds for Sculpture I used my trusty old K10d digital slr in combination with two prime lenses to capture all my images. The lenses being used were the DA21mm limited wide angle and the DA70mm limited telephoto, two extremely compact lenses. I use these lenses quite often when I want to carry light. They are my go to lenses for street photography or when strolling through my favorite museums. This is the view from the front of Rat's restaurant. A day at the Grounds for Sculpture would not be complete without a visit to Rat's, whether for lunch, dinner or happy hour, this restaurant is a must stop. There is always something happening at the Grounds for Sculpture, vist www.groundsforsculpture.org for latest schedule of events.
