The Late Afternoon Glow

Moving away from Maui for a moment I have posted this image which was taken a few years ago on a trip out west. The time of day, quality and direction of the light are always key factors to the outcome of any image. The late afternoon light helped add depth to this image at the same time adding a pleasant glow to the foreground. This image of Pyramid Lake in Nevada was captured using a 16-45mm zoom lens, originally shot in color and later converted to B&W using Lightroom and Elements. I tend to use shutter priority for most of my shots and fine tune my aperture by either speeding up or slowing down the shutter. I do this quite often since I like to hand hold a majority of my images.
